There is nothing more satisfying than to be able to change a patient’s smile through a full mouth reconstruction. Doing one reconstruction can be both challenging and rewarding. It is a journey that the patient and I take together.
Many people underestimate how much thought and planning go into a case like this. As a dental student, I was once told by an instructor that a case like this is manageable when you think about doing one crown at a time. Thinking back on that comment, I felt I was misled about how easy a full mouth reconstruction can be.
I still sweat at every reconstruction case I do because I have to think about so many things: the esthetics, the occlusion, the retentive and supportive element of each abutment and much more. Not only that, the margins of errors magnify when you are doing a full mouth case as opposed to doing a single crown. It certainly to me is not a one crown treatment.,
